| 1/2/00 | We've now been here for about a week and a half. Tom & Dori both got sick with colds right after we moved in, so unpacking has gone slower than we expected. On top of that, there's been problems with heat up in our office, which has made it awfully hard to try to work from there. That's been partially resolved, so we're starting the long process of putting our offices together. Still no ISDN line yet, so we're stuck with slow modem connections. When we get a bit more unpacked, we'll add new pictures. |
| 12/23/99 | It's been a hectic few days. We moved out of the Culver City house on Friday the 17th, and the moving van arrived and unloaded on Tuesday the 21st. Trouble is, there was a snafu with the loan and title companies, so all of our stuff was here but we weren't allowed to actually live here yet. Everything finally got straightened out today, and as of 9:30 this morning, we are officially homeowners. Now all we have to do is unpack... |
| 11/19/99 | Tom took some new pictures when he was up there last weekend. Check them out in the Pictures section.
We've also finally gotten our loan approval for the Healdsburg house. We're now wrestling with escrow companies. That which does not kill us makes us stronger. |
| 11/9/99 | We've added some new pictures to this site which were taken by our friend Lorraine, who lives in Healdsburg.
We've had a number of disasters trying to sell the Culver City townhouse, but we seem to be back in business now. If you want the full scoop, you needed to be a subscriber to our Friends & Family mailing list. The current planned moving date is sometime the week of December 15. Wish us luck! |
| 9/4/99 | Our house in Culver City had its inspection today; it passed with good marks. Just a few things that we'll have to get fixed, it appears.
Oh, and we added some new pictures to this site; check them out in the Pictures section. Just click on the "Jump to newest pix" link. We've also updated the Floorplan page, because we realized that the floorplan that was previously there was flipped from what it will be in our house. |
| 8/26/99 | Yahoo! Looks as though we've sold the house today. The buyers are a family with three kids, which will require some modifications to the house to make things work. We've entered a 90-day escrow, which puts us out of here by November 30. Hope the house construction in Healdsburg doesn't slip! |
| 8/11/99 | We've spent the last few days up in Healdsburg, checking out the progress in building the new house and dealing with things like options, floor coverings, etc. It's frightening how much hardwood floors cost. While we were up there, we discovered that they had accidentally put in a wall that we had requested be taken out, and a few other mistakes. After some discussions with the sales person and the site construction supervisor, things worked out. And now, we even get a closet in the office, which will become the server closet.
We've been told that the house will be ready for occupancy around Thanksgiving. |
| 7/15/99 | We've begun the first of several Open Houses. It's sort of weird to have swarms of people trooping through the house. |
| 7/1/99 | Today, we saw the flyer for the house; it'll be available in the final form soon. We also had our first prospective buyer take a look at the place, even though we'restill getting the place spruced up. |
| 6/13/99 | We've signed a real estate agent to sell our home in Culver City. Look for a Web site touting the house soon. |
